POSSEHL 4.1: Digital conference in Lübeck

November 19, 2020/in Uncategorized /by possehl-mk

Our digital conference in Lübeck brought more than 120 managers and experts from across all Possehl divisions together in March. Over the course of two days they met in workshops, presented results, exchanged ideas and talked about what had been achieved since the start of the process a year earlier. The second conference since the series was introduced in March 2019, this year’s theme was “POSSEHL 4.1”, reflecting the next steps for innovation and collaboration to be taken together across the Group.

The conference was organised by Possehl’s digitalisation team (the D team) and moderated with the support of Berlin-based TLGG Consulting, a consultancy firm that specialises in helping companies to accelerate digital transformation through concrete business models and projects. Five speakers from outside the organisation were also invited to share practical examples of their work in digitalisation and to talk openly about the setbacks they have encountered. The attendees welcomed these insights: “The guest speakers offered a new, broad perspective into what it takes to shape digital transformation. It was very valuable.” Keynote presentations, fireside chats, lightening talks and business workshops also gave participants the opportunity to learn, be inspired and reflect on their own standpoints.

As an umbrella organisation, Possehl supports the Group companies in their digital transformation. Important expertise in digitalisation has been built up within the holding company to coordinate and promote the process of exchange that has been initiated between the companies. In accordance with our slogan #BildetBanden (forming bonds), specialists and managers from all areas of the company have joined forces in cross-company digital cluster working groups.

One initial success of our digitalisation and innovation campaign, which could also be seen from the outside, was the foundation of two start-ups. From the New Year, Possehl Analytics GmbH will provide the Possehl companies with support on the Internet of Things (IoT) and will also harness external market potential. From the end of 2020, Possehl Online Solutions GmbH will begin to provide innovative e-commerce solutions for machine and plant manufacturers in particular. Along with their high levels of agility and innovative strength, both companies stand out for the wealth of experience that their employees have in the field of machine and plant engineering.

Following our second digital conference, it is clear that our POSSEHL 4.X digital transformation has developed into a comprehensive process of cooperation and innovation. The conference is now held every year in the spring and has become an essential event in the calendar for our companies. It is clear what we have to do. We need to ensure the conditions for innovation are right, form a digital ecosystem that acts as a network for people and knowledge, and create added value for companies and their customers by actively shaping digitalisation.
