The Entrepreneurs’ Group

Possehl’s subsidiary Hako grows through acquisition

January 9, 2019/in Press Information /by Melanie Brauer
  • Acquisition of 100 % of the shares in “von Oertzen GmbH”

Lübeck, 9 January 2019 – At the end of the business year 2018, Hako GmbH, which is headquartered in Bad Oldesloe, acquired all of the shares in the Ammersbek-based company von Oertzen GmbH from Lampe Privatinvest. Hako GmbH thus concluded a successful financial year 2018 also from the perspective of acquisitional growth.

von Oertzen is a leading solutions provider of customised high pressure cleaning systems for customers from the B2B segment. The wide product portfolio, which can be tailored to meet individual customer requirements, comprises high pressure cleaners and high pressure extinguishing technology as well as customised solutions for cleaning assembly lines, machines and receptacles used in hazardous areas such as potentially explosive environments. For over sixty years, von Oertzen products have been reknowned for their superior performance and outstanding durability. Most recently, the Schleswig-Holstein-based medium-sized company achieved annual sales of some 11 million euros with its 65 employees.

Hako GmbH is the lead company of the division Cleaning Machines within the Possehl Group. Achieving annual sales of more than 430 million euros and employing around 2,000 people worldwide, Hako is one of the globally leading corporate groups in the field of Cleaning- and Municipal Technology and constitutes an important pillar of Possehl’s corporate portfolio. Over the past years, Hako Group continued to grow organically in a continuous and sustainable manner through launching numerous innovative products and investing in modernisation projects. “I am particularly pleased about adding the strategically significant acquisition of von Oertzen GmbH to our list of successful internal accomplishments. The company’s product portfolio with a focus on professional high pressure cleaners ideally supplements Hako’s range of high-quality Cleaning Technology products such as sweepers and scrubber-driers as well as our Municipal Technology products such as outdoor cleaning machines and multi-functional municipal vehicles. The fact that the new group company is located right on our doorstep is a fortunate coincidence“, says Mario Schreiber, Member of  Possehl’s Executive Board and CEO at Hako. The seller, too, is convinced that Hako as the ideal successor for the business: “The new shareholder offers von Oertzen the perfect prerequisites for continuing the company’s successful growth course of recent years“, says Victor Antunes, Managing Director of Lampe Privatinvest Management GmbH, and adds: “Hako’s convincing corporate concept was the decisive factor for us.”

In the future, von Oertzen is set to develop independently as a specialist supplier and niche marketer within the Hako Group while concomitantly profiting from the Group’s international business orientation.

By acquiring von Oertzen GmbH – the fifth corporate acquisition concluded in 2018 – the Possehl Group continued its expansion course of the past years.
